Virtualisation Overview Lunch and Learn

We would like to invite you to a Virtualisation Lunch and Learn that we are holding on Friday the 17th of October in conjunction with VMware.  As a VMware Enterprise Partner, based in Brisbane, NewBase aim to educate and better inform organisations on what virtualisation and VMware technology can achieve for their network.  These Lunch and Learn events provide a great opportunity for organisations to better understand how virtualisation works.

This small group interactive session will look at what server virtualisation can offer, including cost-effective high availability for any application, and dynamically allocating and balancing computing resources.

It will discuss:

  • how virtualisation works – not just the basics but also the high availability and resource management capabilities
  • what it provides
  • the business benefits
  • the benefits to the IT department
  • how other organisations have benefited from it
  • the roadmap for adoption

And it will also include live demonstrations of the technology in action.

This will have information for both business and technical decision makers.  Lunch is included and we encourage attendees to ask questions to satisfy their own areas of interest.

If you want to find out how virtualisation could really benefit your organisation and get a much better understanding of how it all works then you need to come along to this Lunch and Learn. Feedback from previous attendees has been very positive, and even those who had some previous experience with virtualisation have said that they came away with a much greater grasp on the powerful benefits that they could achieve with this technology.

Attendees will be able to find out more about undertaking a virtualisation assessment of their network which will give you a clear understanding of how server consolidation would effect your environment and the many benefits it will provide. It will assess your current environment, performance and utilisation and provide a consolidated design plan based on your network requirements.

The Lunch and Learn starts at 11.30am, finishing at 1pm at Level 24, AMP Place, 10 Eagle Street, Brisbane. To register email to events@newbase.com.au

If you can't make this date but are interested in attending future Lunch and Learns then send us an email and we will ensure that you are notified in advance of the next event.

VMware - The Road Ahead Lunch and Learn

VMware have just completed their massive VMworld conference in Las Vegas (14000 attendees, 200 exhibitors).  The sheer scale of this event illustrates the attention that the virtualisation marketplace is getting and it is used as a launching pad for many new products form various vendors, but especially from VMware themselves.  Their key announcements this time have been:

  • Virtual Datacentre OS
  • VMware View - the enhanced VDI
  • vCloud Initiative
  • VI4

If you are running VMware in your environment then you need to come along and hear about the new announcements that emerged from VMWorld in Las Vegas and Vforum in Sydney, and what these really mean.

This is a small group session so you can ask all your questions and really get an understanding of where VMware is heading with some of their new product developments and how these can be applied to your organisation.

If you are running VMware and want to understand what these new announcements really mean then come along to the first of our VMware - The Road Ahead Lunch and Learns on October 24th at Level 36, Riparian Plaza, 71 Eagle St, Brisbane.    The session runs from 11.30am - 1pm.

Disaster Recovery Lunch and Learn

Many organisations want to put disaster recovery in place for their IT infrastructure but struggle with how to do it without a huge budget.  We’ve all heard about the issues with traditional IT “data centre” disaster recovery that can be a disaster in itself –slow, tedious, manual and expensive. But it doesn’t have to be that way, and the growth of server virtualisation is showing how.

You may already be using server virtualisation for application delivery and storage so many of the elements will already be in place, and this can help you recover your IT environment simply and rapidly, at a fraction of the cost of other DR solutions.

This event will look at both internal and external DR.  Not every organisation can afford to have offsite DR but the internal DR is just as important - having strong and highly available environment that caters for low level disasters i.e. server failure, data corruption and server imaging to enable rapid restoration of the server.

If you’re interested in a practical solution for DR then you need to attend this Lunch and Learn being presented by NewBase, Vizioncore and VMware.  This small group interactive session will have information for both business and technical decision makers. Lunch is included and we encourage attendees to ask questions to satisfy their own areas of interest.

This Lunch and Learn is being held on September 10th at Level 30, AMP Place, 10 Eagle St, Brisbane.  Start time is 11.30am, finishing at 1.00 pm, with lunch provided. To register email to events@newbase.com.au

Exchange 2007 Virtualisation

Exchange 2007 is a major jump from previous versions, requiring 64 bit servers and to provide high availability is much more complex than with 2003.  However, there is a way to avoid many of the challenges, and the hardware overhead - virtualise it.  This session is aimed at those who are interested in virtualising Exchange 2007, and want to find out the facts about how it will work in a virtual environment.  We have had great feedback by previous attendees to this session, it is certainly not a marketing push, rather it is a technical discussion that deals in the facts about what is required to successfully deploy Exchange 2007 in a virtual environment.

This is a small group session using slides, whiteboards and scenario discussions, focused on the particular environments and specific requirements that attendees have.  VMware and NewBase personnel will be able to answer questions and illustrate scenarios based on your situation.  You will be able to ask questions about your specific environment and delve into what is involved to virtualise these technologies.

These are interactive sessions and the direction of the presentation moves based on the questions raised.  If you are looking to move to Exchange 2007 and want to know how successful it would be in a virtual environment then come along to this Lunch and Learn.

This Exchange 2007 Virtualisation Lunch and Learn is being held on July 18th at 11.30am (finishing 1pm) at Level 30, AMP Place, 10 Eagle St, Brisbane.
